Well, who are you?
(Who are you? Who, who, who, who?)
I really wanna know
(Who are you? Who, who, who, who?)
Tell me, who are you?
(Who are you? Who, who, who, who?)
'Cause I really wanna know
(Who are you? Who, who, who, who?)
Well, I'm Nigel and I live in beautiful Cornwall. Sadly, far away from my younger son and his family in Kent. And even more so from my elder son and his family in New |South Wales, Australia.
76 years old but who's counting? (a wartime baby)
I am a football fanatic (that's an ancient game that used to be played and shown on TV in times gone by - by the way, where's my refund, Sky Sports? You're seriously still charging me?). I may be the only person in Cornwall who supports Ipswich Town F.C. Or will do if they ever get to play again. BTW, my fanaticism is limited to watching not playing. Although I have thought of walking football, but presumably that isn't happening at the moment.
I have never been a blogger, so this is a very amateurish first try - it's never too late in life for new challenges. But I am a very verbose person, so you'all may need to ignore 50% of what I write.

Walking in Charlestown
Charlestown Harbour:
And the beach (closed - why?):
And the Rashleigh Arms (closed), where I have spent many a pleasant time - and we could definitely social distance here; let us out!
The beginning of the beginning
I needed to fill in some time. Between this and that. Too much of this (playing computer games) and not enough motivation to do that (gardening).
So - a blog. What's a blog? I have no idea but hopefully, by creating one, I'll find out.
What will I talk about? Also no idea. But it'll come to me.
Will anyone read it? Maybe once, but repeat readers? Probably not. Regular readers, eager to hear the latest from Nigel? Almost certainly not - unless there are others who need to fill in time.
I'll start with exercise. Not AN exercise, but Boris-mandated stroll through country lanes. Actually I have two regular walks. One is along pretty woodland footpaths (I tried that yesterday but, after a night of heavy rain, it was too muddy) and the other is down to Charlestown harbour. It's a little too far for me to walk all the way there and back, so I drive part of the way, park and then stroll down to the sea. That got me into trouble from a Mr Angry a few days ago for, in his words "engaging in non-essential travel". I would quote my reply but I don't want to get this blog shut down before anyone even reads it.
Whilst on today's Charlestown walk - glaring at Mr Angry as I walk past - I found my mind wandering. Not unusual for a 76 yo, I hear you say. True but especially whimsical today. Why did I suddenly starting thinking of what my favourite TV comedy of all time is?
Well, I just did - and that's easy: Fawlty Towers.
Favourite movie that I could watch time and time again? Also easy: 2001; A Space Odyssey.
Favourite TV series? Much harder because influenced by what I've seen recently. Bot probably: The West Wing.
And so on. So I have already distracted myself from my routine. But that's good, surely? Routine bad; impulse good.
